hope it won't happen, but very little although depends what country.  The the has been a very good improvement  in security systems at airports in the UK.  Its difficult now to even bring a weapon on board. But in other country's it could be done.

Since this date in 2001, seven years ago, four commercial aircraft have been hijacked. In that same time period about 72,912,035 commercial flights have taken place. So your chances are about 1 in 18,228,009 of being hijacked, and that's if we count the 9/11 hijackings as if they were the norm. I don't think there were any hijackings in the US in the 15-20 years before 9/11, so that really waters down the numbers even further.

Your odds of being sainted in the Catholic church are about the same as your odds of being hijacked.

You're more almost twenty times more likely to be killed in a fireworks accident than to be hijacked.

After 9-11, really close to zero. Last item on the checklist before take off: "I fight, you fly." -- and that's after the would-be hijacker makes it through the angry passengers and flight attendants.
