my dad is legal permanent resident in seattle. He petitioned us (my mom and me). The petition is named after her and she is the principal. Im 21 yrs old now. but the petition was filed when I was only 12. When I went to US embassy they told me they cannot process my visa because my mom isnt going and she is the principal .(My mom doesnt like to go there in seattle). Im sooooooooo sad because I havent seen my dad for almost 10yrs now... he didnt filed a separate petition for me knowing that my mom will go with me...

*now im planning to just have a tourist visa which will be sponsored by my dad. he already sent me the necesarry documents... tickets..letters..evrything! im just worried that the petition that has been void would affect my application for a tourist...:(

does it affects?

  1. Kristine, I am surprised that your Mom did not get the visa when your priority date came up in 2004. The both of you could have gone to Seattle, waited for your green cards and your Mom could have gone back home to Silang and left you with your Dad (maybe this is the reason why?) Your petition has nothing to do with your application for a visitor's visa. In the interview, just answer what is being asked. No more, no less. Hope you finally get to see your Dad after a long time. Good luck.**
