  1. Get in there and have a go.

    1. In your local area, contact the Townsville and Districts Rugby league for your nearest team.

    2. The Qld Cup comp has a Team called the Northern Pride based in Cairns (Feeder club to the Cowboys).

    3. The North Queensland Young Guns (formally of the QLD Cup) are the Cowboys under 20's Team for the NRL.

If you are only a junior, keep playing and improve your skills and see if you want to play at higher levels

If you are older, check out grade in your local area or check out the Northern Pride..

  2. Train On Squads are hard, hard work! But the rewards can be great, sometimes it only takes a few good moments in a few trials to stamp your authority on a position. The core 4 players at the scrum base always "pick themselves" as standouts and possibly any one whos a "freak" player. The rest work bloody hard, if injuries don't knock you out and the training regimes dont deter you, than good luck!

  3. well since you live in Australia you have got a good chane

  4. Mate, if you play in a junior comp, then talent scouts will soon spot you if your good enough.

  5. if youre really commitmented and put in all of the hard work, then yea you have just as good chance as anyone else.

  6. Depends on your commitment and skill. A guy I knew from Uni had never played Union (or League) - he was 19 and went out for a run as some friends asked him to. Ended up playing two games for Australia and about 90 odd for the Brumbies, plus won a couple a premierships.

Actually had another mate who played League as a junior until 16 (some minor rep level games at that age as well) - stopped playing until he was 23 - to concentrate on athletics - then played 77 first grade games for the Eels and Roosters. So sure, why not.

  7. A NRL player, u need 2 be a freak

  8. mate how old are you?

and if your playing on the wing in junior footy that isnt really a good sign(people are put on the wing because they either cant tackle or cant run the ball very well)

if your playing representative footy for the cowboys then thats another story but w.e floats your boat

i played harold matthews cup(under 16's) for the bulldogs and went pretty good, but i fell out of it the next year(just lost interest in it and getting into the starting team or even the train-on side was soo focking hard) so i just chilled playing in the juniors for a couple more years and here i am now : D
