  1. Next to zero.

Trains in the US are BY FAR safer than driving.

  2. Indeed, your chances of being in an accident aboard Amtrak are quite slim and as Wolf said, if you are the chances of survival are much higher than aboard a plane.

  3. I was in an Amtrak crash literally in 1971. Trains are actually more dangerous than airplanes.

  4. about 23.9 percent depending on enviornmental factors. 32.1 over any trussle.

  5. Always unpunctual but no accident.

  6. Hardly none,

you are more at risk in the taxi ride to the train station.

If you are involved and that is extremely rare, you are about ten thousand times more likely to survive and walk away than in a plane crash.

    relax and enjoy the ride.

I have been riding rails as an engineer since 1975 and never been hurt in any form of derailment.

    you are safe

  7. Trains and airplanes are pretty much neck and neck on safety.  However, when a train has a problem, there are comparatively few injuries and typically no deaths.  With airplanes, well, I don't need to tell you.
