I just recently found out that I am pregnant. I have a set of b/g fraternal twins that are now 10 months. I know it happens, but what is the chance of having another set of twins (preferably a set of identical twin boys). Just curious - thanks ahead of time for the answers.

  1. according to my health class, 1 of 7

  2. Later moms have higher incidences of multiple pregnancies. More info on multiples and moms on the link below. Congrats and best wishes, G

"Are you seeing double (or triple) every time you go to the grocery store or the shopping mall? You are--twins, triplets, and even quadruplets are much more common these days than just a decade ago. In the US, the number of twin births has risen by 67% and the number of triplet and higher order births by 548% since 1980. Although triplets and higher-order multiples are increasing at a faster rate, twins account for more than 93% of all multiple births each year. One-fourth of this increase is attributed to delaying childbearing and the naturally higher occurrence of multiple births to older mothers, but the majority is the result of fertility-enhancing agents and assisted reproductive technologies."

  3. Your chances aren't very high.  If you want another set, I'd suggest trading your new baby for one.  You can offer them your new baby and then some money to make up the difference, or simply give them your new baby and promise them dibs on your next baby at a later date.

    Hope this helps!  Good luck!!

  4. About 1 % chance, Its rare for it to happen so its unlikely...

Other answers here suggest otherwise so ask yourself have you ever known anyone to have a second set of twins identical or fraternal, I certainly dont and Im a twin myself..

  5. My Aunt had five pregnancies. Her first was a set of female fraternal twins, after that she only had singletons. All of her children are female. Yea, six girls. So your chances are pretty low, kindra like your first pregnancy. Fraternal twins run very strong in my family. xx

  6. Identical twins are not genetic, it's all by chance.  I'm not sure what your chances would be of having another set of fraternal twins, but there is definitely a chance.

  7. It is pretty unlikely to have another identical twin once you already have a fraternal twins. It has a slight chance but it is possible that the next baby is a single. It would be great to see another set of twins!

    Good Luck!

  8. You would have a higher chance of having twins again! Identical twins are a freak of nature though! A friend of mine had a a daughter in her first pregnancy, then two Identical girls and is now pregnant with triplets Identical boys and a girl :-)

  9. 50/50 chance

  10. it depends

if twins run in your family as likely as the last pair...

  11. Its the same chance of when you had ur first twins. In a way its kinda unpredictable. Idk. Im not a doctor lol

  12. It's would be highly unusual. Especially to get identical twins after fraternal twins. You would have to hit the multiples jackpot.

And you say "preferably"? Prepare to be disappointed. Be thankful for a healthy baby.
