  1. Ask one of the scuba diving guides. I am sure they will take you in a boat to a site to get a conch shell with its own alive scallop mollusc.

    Best luck.

  2. not sure about varadero, but there are heaps of rocky coasts in havana and uu can find it there. The place where i come from is full of them. Varadero is trimmed by fine-sand sea shore.

  3. you could look on the beach,

but if all else fails they do sell them.

  4. We did a snorkel trip in the Turks and Caicos and they took us to an area where we snorkeled for conch shells. The water was shallow. Everyone took a shell home after everything was removed. Look for a excursion that the captain or staff will take care of the removal.

We used a bleach and water solution to clean the shell.  Maybe you will be lucky and find one on the beach. But make sure you clean it before going home, they do have an odor and it may still be living.

    Good Luck)

  5. You can easily find conch in Cuba. However, there is a possibility that it can be confiscated upon entering your home country.

I'm not sure if you're from  Canada or elsewhere, but in Canada, it can pose an issue if one gets caught...But most of the time, Canadian customs rarely checks your luggage and may not even notice it.

    Check the link below:

But have an amazing time in Cuba. You'll love it! This may be your first time but it definitely won't be your last :-)

**Edit: no reason for thumbs down...i'm not giving an incorrect answer...anyone can leave Cuba with conch shells, but some at customs coming home might have a problem...it's happened to others before.
