One of my great grandmas has Macular Degeneration and the other has Glaucoma.

What are my chances of getting one of those?

What are they, and what are the symptoms? [Just to be informed, I dont think I have them.]

  1. Your chances are increased when it is in the family history. Be sure to inform your eye Dr. that your Grandma's have those problems.

Someone posted this link in answer to another question, but it is a good one to give you the info you want.

Scroll down the page a bit and you will see info about both conditions.

Sorry , I can't get the link to work, so just copy and paste it into your browser.

  2. Both diseases are more commonly encountered in middle age or elderly patients.

Macular degeneration is a degenerative disease of your retinal.  Glaucoma is raised pressure in your eye which subsequently affect your peripheral visual field until you are left with limited tunnel vision. Please visit my website for more details.
