I have had one previous miscarriage at 5 weeks. During that pregnancy I didn't have any symptoms, didn't test positive until I was a full week late on my period ,and miscarried 2 days later. This time around I tested positive the day of my missed period, have been really sick since week 6, and extremely exhausted. All of the signs show that the pregnancy is healthy but I was just wondering what my chances are of miscarrying at this point? We've been waiting to announce it until we feel more confident that things will be okay. I have an appointment this Friday and am hoping to hear the heartbeat (at 10 weeks).

  1. Miscarriage happens mostly in the first 4 months, After that there's little chance you'll have any problems, but it is possible so be careful not to lift anything really heavy or over exert yourself.

  2. The chances drop dramatically but after 12 weeks it's usually safe to tell people. It's very rare to miscarry after that point yet not impossible.

  3. Not to scare you but miscarriage is possible at any week.  If your OB knows about your previous miscarriage then he should be watching you more closely!  GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!!

  4. he risk of a miscarriage is less when you are about 12 eeks that's when its the safest time to tell people you are pregnant i have had 2 miscarriages before and i felt the same way as you so good luck and congrats try not to think of bad things hopefully it is all good this time round =)
