What are the chances of my baby being born with blue eyes?

When i was born my hair was black and as i grew up it went to a light brown by kindergarten and by middle school i had dirty blonde hair.

I have bluey-green eyes.

My boyfriend was born with blonde hair, and blue eyes.

Both of our mothers have Brown eyes, and both of our Dads have Blue eyes and blonde/dirty blonde hair.

Is there a way to predict the eye/hair color of my little one?

  1. Most babies are born with blue eyes, and then some change. Yours will probably stay blue since both parents' eyes are blue, but brown is dominant so I'm not sure. My twins were born with blue, then they turned green like mine, then they changed AGAIN to brown like their dad's lol.

  2. more than likely it will look like you two. but his/her looks could vary as time goes on, but probably not that much

  3. both my parent's had brown eyes and i was born with blue, which turned out to be hazel and change all the time! :)

    the hair color is hard to tell i had dark hair at birth then it turned auburn then was very very blonde, now it's more light brown.

    it's hard to tell what your baby will be, guess you'll just have to wait!

  4. B = brown eyes

    b = blue eyes

    g = green eyes

    In order for both your moms to have brown eyes they'd have to be Bb or BB or Bg . In order for your dads to have blue eyes they have to be bb.

    In order for you to have blue-green eyes you have to be bg. Which means your mom is Bg and your dad is bb. Your dad gave you b and your mom gave you g. Thus, bg = blue-green eyes.

    Your boyfriend, having blue eyes, must be bb. Which means his mom must be Bb. And his dad must be bb. His mom gave him b. And his dad gave him b.

    You can give your child b or g. And he gave only give your child b.

    SO, your child will either have blue green eyes like you or blue eyes like him.

    NOTE: Capital letters are dominant, meaning that if they're present the eye color will be the color the capital letter represents. In order to have a color that is recessive (lower case b ((blue)) or lower case g ((green))) you have to have two lower case letters.

    Hope this helps. If you don't under it, let me know and I'll try to explain it better.
