What are the chances of my boyfriend proposing to me?

Question

We have been dating for a year but we are in love so much and truly care about each other and look out for each other. He says he wants to start a family with me one day, we are in our 20's and both aiming to finish our studies but are very serious about each other. I don't mind when but do you think he will EVER propose to me?

He said before jokingly that I should change my last name to his.

Because I want to change my last name to another one, I don't have a relationship with my father and he joked and said I should change it to his last name. (if that helps any)

So what do you think?

Just be patient.  It'll happen when it's supposed to.

Don't rush it.  If you try and push him into proposing it's not going to be happy for either one of you.  Slow down and just enjoy everyday that you have together,  the days will turn into months, and then into years, and sooner or later you'll have a ring on your finger and be tossing the bouquet.  Good Luck!

It sounds like he feels very strongly for you if he wants to have children together. Do you think he was fishing around for your feelings about marriage when he mentioned changing your last name?  Maybe he was trying to figure out where you stood with marriage.  By joking he kind of put the topic out there without risking too much.  Guys don't want to be rejected.  

It sounds like he will propose. Give him a little time and see what happens.

It kind of sound like he is willing to marry you.  Have YOU explained to him how YOU feel about HIM?  That's the key.  If he told you, you should probably tell him back.  Good luck!

i have the same problem. I don't know when he will. Hope it's soon
