At work the other day I had my ipod in my pocket on the lawnmower, and it started raining. My pants got went and the water soaked through and my ipod got wet. I headed back to the shop and grabbed my rain coat and put it in the pocket of the raincoat and closed the pocket, and everything was fine for a few hours then it started raining again and I again was in the middle of the rain and i believe more water got to my ipod. I left my ipod in my coat pocket for a little while in its case (I have one of those belkin hard plastic cases and after about an hour when I got home I went to get my ipod and stuff out of the truck and I noticed it had gotten wet. I wasnt in the rain but for maybe 10 minutes before I got back to the shop and went home the second time, so I was wondering is my ipod still gonna work? or is there a pretty good chance of it being dead?

  1. there is a pretty big chance of your ipod being dead but try using it and then you'll know for sure if it's dead or not

  2. If you haven't already, do not turn the iPod on. If any current gets exposed, irreparable damage may occur. First try to dry it out. You can do that several ways:

Use a warming light/shop light. Make sure the iPod screen is face down to protect the screen from bright light. Leave the lights on for no longer than 5 minutes at a time (you should be able to touch your iPod; if not, it's too hot). You can also try putting the iPod face down on the dashboard of your vehicle.

It will take quite a while for your iPod to dry. It's not going to happen in an hour and will probably take half a day or more. Just remember not to turn the iPod on until it is dry.

  3. Mine went thru the washing Machine so i think the chance would be slim. BTW mine still works.

  4. It should be ok but leave it out for a few days. It should then go back to full functionality.
