  1. Wearing seatbelts reduce the risk of death for a front seat car occupant by about 50 percent.

  2. Very good only problem i see is idiots that drive 10 mile an hour faster as they have the security of that seat belt.

More pedestrians are killed now than before seat belts

  3. i survived being hit head on by a tractor and trailer back in the early 80,s so im  a firm believer in them,i was driving a Chevy vega gt at the time,so basically they said had not been for the seat belt i wouldn't have survived,it crushed the car i was in down to 3ft.9 inches high,i was cut out of the car but survived with only a few broken bones, seat belts work, wear them, good luck

  4. overall it the chances are much greater with a belt in any given scenario. the princess Diana  crash is a typical case . only the body guard was wearing his. he survived. the other three in the car died. this is why it is  legally required to wear seat belts in almost all cases.

  5. I'm not sure about the statistic, but it is DEFINITELY a lot higher than if you aren't wearing one. See, with a seatbelt, you could get a major bruise across your chest, or even a broken shoulder or collar bone, but compare that to smashing your chest into the steering whee and smashing your head through the windshield. It's a no brainer.

  6. a h**l of a lot better than without a seatbelt
