  1. Very small.

They play in a ridiculously weak division with the overrated Browns, rebuilding Ravens, and Bengals who are a complete mess.  This makes them almost a lock to make the playoffs, probably with about a 9-7 record.  Once they get there they have a problem.

Are they better than the Jaguars (probable #5 seed)? NO

Are they better than the Patriots (probable #1 seed)? NO

Are they better than the Colts or Chargers (probable #2 and #3 seeds)? NO

Are the better than the Cowboys or Vikings (likely NFC champions) NO

That is an awful lot of NO's to go through to win the Super Bowl.

And don't bring up 2005 either!  They were an excellent team, coming off of a 15-1 season, whose #6 seed was entirely due to mid-season injuries.  Winning a championship this year looks much more difficult.

In fact, if Dallas wins the NFC there is a good chance that every team between the Steelers and the Lombardi Trophy will have beaten them during the season including several 10 point blowouts.

edit: to the guy above me, strange route to the Siper Bowl.  Surprisingly, it didn't work as well for the Redskins as it did for the Giants.  And anyway, it doesn't apply because the Giants played two weaker divisions not two stronger ones.

  2. 65% chance, but it's going to be a long season i think.don't get me wrong i have faith but the way special teams, and the o-line has been playing.i think it's going to be to much.i smell a repeat of last year.

to blue jacket /jack a ss we despise you pansy fans as well!

  3. Hope your not a fan of the Steelers because their chances are very slim this year. Not saying they will have a very bad year but they won't look that good either. On the other hand you could be a fan, because every team has a bad year. Even the patriots will undergo one sometime in the future...

  4. I think them even making the play offs this year is going to be tough.  I know it's just preseason and it doesn't mean anything but the defensive run stopping looked aweful this year.  And who does ben even have to throw to?  It can't be Heath/Santonio/Hines all the time.  If that O-line doesn't shape up I'd be worried Ben will lead the NFL in sacs allows this year again among starting qb's.

I think a 9-7 record will get a wild card spot and they have to beat the Brownies twice to get in with the tie breaker rule again this year.

  5. Slim. They have a brutal schedule, and their offensive line was a mess even before they lost Faneca. Signing Byron Leftwich was a smart move, though, after Charlie Batch went down. If this year's Steelers can't pass block any better than last year's, Leftwich will see a LOT of playing time.

  6. they have a very slim chance

  7. They have a great chance to go to the SB and two reasons pop into my head why: 1) They have the toughest schedule in the NFL this year which will prepare them well to go through the Chargers and Colts in the playoffs; and 2) Big Ben and Eli, both from the class of '04, each have a SB ring so the jury's still out over who the best QB from the class is (Eli, Ben, Rivers) which will motivate Ben to get to the top first again.

Note: They play the Chargers, Giants, Cowboys, Colts and Patriots in their regular season, so to the poster below, how "easy" their division is really doesn't matter.  These season games against play-off rivals will prepare them well for their SB run...like what happened to the Giants last year.  The Giants lost to them during regular season, but studied hard and came back to beat them during their run from wild card to SB.

  8. Slim to none.

  9. not great,to get in th super bowl they'll have to beat the colts, and patriots which they won't get done

  10. I think i put them 4th on the AFC. They have a stron team, good offense, and good defense. There record will be 10-6 and will make the playoffs but they will have to go through chargers, colts, browns, and the P _ _ _ _ _ _ _. i'd say 4% chance.

  11. PATRIOTS...PATRIOTS...PATRIOTS...PATRIOT...

Don't tell me not to do something.  That's the sure-fire way to make me do it.

  12. patriots???... whats that?.....oh wait thats the team that lost to my EAGLES!!!

well the steelers are looking okay i guess...jk

any team has a chance to win the super bowl i mean who thought the giants would be the winners before the season started..

  13. it will be hard since they have the toughest schedule in the league

i think saying to win the superbowl is asking too much

why not say they have a good chance at making the playoffs in their division

  14. i think they have a good chance.strong defense wins titles!

  15. Good, Good, Good.  Ben is looking like he is ready!

  16.   Very remote. Look at their  tough sked and the poor offensive line.

  17. 100 percent Here we go steelers here we go

    PATRIOTS SUCK
