Could you imagine if Texas or some state was cut off from federal funds and protection.  left to fend for themselves.  (not that I would mind getting rid of texas by any means).  But it's not going to happen.

Well, if it was CA and the rest of us still had not only access but control over the ports in that People's Republic, I'd say: GO FOR IT!!!

If i recall right a bunch of states tried that back in the 1800s. Didnt work too well for them.

As for as I know Texas is the only state that has that right. After it split from Mexico it became a republic. It did not join the union by acquisition. But why would any state want to at this time?
