  1. Airlines are really good about luggage, it is very unlikely that luggage is lost. My grandmother lost luggage coming from India, but that was only because she forgot to put it through customs, and she got it in the end. Your friend is one of about .1% of people. Most baggage problems get resolved really quickly because of the ease of tracking luggage.

  2. I have never lost luggage ever and I have flown to europe and back as well as many many other states.

One thing is get there early enough 90 minutes before you leave and make sure your connections are at least 45 minutes apart. This allows the baggage handlers to get it on the right cart.

Place your name not only on the airline tag but inside your suit case with your phone number and itinary.  That way if the tag gets ripped off they can look inside and call you at the phone numbers at your destination.

Also make your luggage looks unique - Tie on ribbons or use some bright colored tape.  My luggage is bright hot pink.  Hardly anyone has that color and I can spot it a mile away so not mix-ups at the carosell.  I still tie some ribbons on it just in case.

Always carry extra underwear and maybe shirt in your carryone just in case.

Get there early - relax - fly and have a good time.

  3. its unlikely that you will lose your luggage but i read in an article once that you are more likely to lose your luggage if there is some abnormal conditions like short lay overs, canceled flights, delayed flights, flying stand-by, getting bumped, leaving old baggage tags on your baggage ect... i always pack a couple necessities in my carry on bag just in case..

  4. Hello,

I fly 50-90 hours a year and i have never lost a bag or the air line has never lost one of my bags enjoy your flight

    Best Regards,

    Jo
