I am a Filipino and an agency in Canada is currently working on my employment as a cashier in an ice cream parlor. My agent said hat she really cannot give me a 100percent guarantee that I can go there since the final decision for my working permit will depend on Canadian Consuls.

  1. Like everyone said, you've got to pass the point system for skilled worker... on the other hand if you're applying for a caregiver/nanny job, the result of your visa depends on your employer's eligibilty.... but a cashier in an ice cream parlour???? Gawd, there's too many Canadian that can and able to do that kind of job.... mostly students who needs extra money to support themselves while studying... or moms that just needs job while their kids are in school. Aside from that, I don't think cashier is considered as an skilled worker job in the immigration list......

  2. Have you got a job already in Canada? Its depend on your employer sponsor. Spartan

  3. You need to qualify under the skilled workers status.  It revolves around a 67 point system and you need to get at least that to be accepted.  It also depends on the type of job that is in question.  The Canadian employer has to prove that they cannot find any Canadians for their type of employment.  Unfortunately for you, cashiers at ice cream parlors can be found quite easily in Canada.
