What are the chances that a 39 yr old will have a healthy baby?

I know that downs syndrome rises with age but i was wondering what else could happen due to having a child that late in life and what are the chances that the baby will be completely normal.........although the father is an A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry for that but i couldn't help it)

I would say great.  Women are having babies later and later now.  Just take care of yourself, do all that you can for you and the baby and it will come back to you.  Remember to keep your stress down if the father is a *$#@ because stress can make your pregnancy a little more difficult.  Take care.

They start considering pregnancy at age 35 but of course that doesn't mean your child will be born with problems.  I would look at your own health, your partner's health & family medical history.  

I can't honestly tell you the odds as I know plenty of women who have perfectly healthy babies in their 40's while 20 year olds have complications.  Each pregnancy is different but I wish you the best.

Ha ha!  My husband's mother was 39 when she gave birth to him and she was 40 when she gave birth to his sister.  They're both relatively normal!  :)  

Anything can happen at any age.  There are a lot of babies born perfectly healthy to older women. good luck

the chances of you having a healthy baby are big my aunt was 41 when she had my little cousin and she is 4 now she is perfectly fine so just make a baby have fun

As long as the mother is healthy and taking her vitamins there really shouldnt be any problems.  Good luck!
