I recently posted an ad selling my laptop on craigslist and was offered 200 dollars more than my asking price. Shes from nigeria and agreed to pay with a money order. Its a usps money order so is there a chance that it is fake? Im very worried. Can the email from usps be fake? She also paid for the shipping -_-, Im being terribly scammed arent I? Is there any way I can tell dhl to stop the shipment?

  1. 100%

  2. Your chances that this is a scam are 100%... don't accept the money order, and don't agree to sell to anyone outside of the US.

  3. Yes, you're being scammed.  Call the USPS and ask them about the money order.  There should be a serial number on it that they can use to determine if it's good or not, but I'd bet dollars to donuts it's counterfeit.

Call DHL immediately and ask what can be done.

  4. hello - yes, you are being scammed.  craigslist and ebay work best in cash transactions within the US.  Call dhl.  see if they can help you.  good luck

  5. WOW, I had no idea you could get United States Postal money orders in other countries, that's crazy if its true.

Accept the money order, cash it at your bank and WAIT about a week and make sure it goes through alright. DO NOT send the laptop until the payment has cleared.
