  1. Another vote for Mexico being very safe.  I've been there about 24 times and driven through 18 of the 31 state and never had a problem.  I take that back--I had a scratched fender in a parking lot.

The main caution is to NEVER drive at night.  You don't want to hit a burro or truck with no lights at 60 mph.

99 percent of the Mexican people are very nice and friendly. There are thieves and pickpockets, but they are attracted to the cities that attract tourists.

Take the trip and write a book or a blog about the adventure.

  2. not many... just take precautions for not being robbed in bad places as Mexico City or border towns... must towns are calmed and nice :D

  3. I'm a Canadian who lives and works in Mexico City for the past 6 years I travel Mexico quite extensively from boarder to boarder coast to coast, by air, bus and I drive.

I have never had a problem here.

Bad things can happen anywhere in the word at any time, take caution when needed, if it feels bad don't do it and always use common sense. If you have a history of making bad decisions use the help of a person you trust and travel with a person who is well travelled.

If something looks and or feels wrong well chances are it is.

Travel smart, be prepared and always enjoy yourself.

  4. Is like always too much media focusing in bad things, if you travel to Mexico you will find that is safe enough, just use your common sense, belive me LA can be more dangerous than most of Mexico or Guatemala.

  5. I think you need to learn more about Mexico before you go. Its not that dangerous if you are smart. I have been a few times to Mexico City (and I am still living and breathing). You are listening too much to the media c**p about Mexico and people being robbed or something like that. I have never had a problem and I have never been to a touristy area. The people are nice, and the food is great. I do take precautions when I am there, but I also do when I am in Seattle or on vacation anywhere. I don't care alot of money, only leave my in-laws house if I tell them where I am going or if I am with someone else, etc...I have never had a problem in Mexico, infact I feel with everything that the president has done, it is probably safer in places like Mexico City. However, boarder towns are quite dangerous right now, and I would stay away from them.
