  1. I am pretty sure they have no evidence for any cultural development in sivipithecus.  Little rusty on the fossil evidence for characteristics though I do thinkn that some believe it to be in the line to humans and or related to orangutans

  2. Siva has been found in east asia - dating to approximately the mid to late Miocene or 9-11 million years ago.  The Miocene is sometimes considered the age of apes as there was an explosion of varieties in response to environmental changes occurring around the world.

They had facial features similar to modern Orangutans, but post cranial were quite different.  I forget just how many species forms there were now (Sivapithecus is a genus) but I believe that there have been several assigned.

Culturally ? - we know based on dentition that they were probably fruit eaters, and we know from post cranial remains that they wer quadrapeds - possibly vertical climbers, but it does not appear that they could suspend like modern apes - That's about as close as I can come to "cultural aspects"
