I wrote an ebook on this subject, but basically a good marketing system should...

(A) Generate qualified "leads" (i.e. people who are qualified to buy the product or service).

(B) Turn those qualified leads into sales.

On the Internet, traffic generation is often the lead generator, sending a person to a sales letter, which aims to convince the person to buy.

There's other ways of doing it, but basically I'd say that any good marketing system should have A and B in place.
