I too am going to the World Cup as well and here's what I did to save me the most amount of money:

1) Use Freq Flyer Miles if possible

2) Book a round-trip ticket to another part of Europe (outside of Germany) (I'm booked on a round-trip from San Francisco to Rome)

3) Book a cheap regional airline from whatever country you are flying into and book a ticket to your destination spot in Germany.

4) Use http://farechase.yahoo.com/ to get that cheap ticket

I can't say enough about how glad I am I found this site. All of the other 1-way tickets from Rome to Munich were well between $400-$600. One Y! Farechase, I was able to book a 1-way for just under 100 bucks! It's on a German Airline called DBA.

I told me friend about the site and he and his fiance booked their flights as well (SFO to Rome) for $1400 each and then booked a flight from Rome to Munich for about $75 per person.

Try this out, be open to availability and have a kick *** time at the games!

Well,as right now,I think everything is gonna be so expensive.I am going too and i bougth my tickets about 2 o 3 months ago.What I did was I went to PRICELINE.COM and find the cheapest ticket to Madrid.Found it and then after a month or so,I bought Madrid to Amsterdam for 150 on IBERIA website.And from Amsterdam to Hamburg,I will drive or take the train.I believe I will be paying all this but at least I will see other countries for the same price.So I thinks it is worth it.Good luck my friend.By the way.Ecuador,2006 world cup champion
