  1. Acid rain is just rain with dissolved nitrogen dioxide and sulfur oxide, which forms nitric acid (HNO3) and sulfurous acid (H2SO3) with a bit of sulphuric acid (H2SO4). This makes it an acidic solution.

    Since there is plenty of H+ ions present in the rain, which are free to react, Acid rain damages metal structures, e.g. speeds up corrosion of iron (rusting)

    I would say the physical properties of acid rain are almost exactly the same as normal rain, but I haven't checked it anywhere, so i'm not sure.
