  1. There are two classifications; American and International.

You also have two types of classifications; Ballroom and Latin.

There are three levels for ballroom dancing; Bronze, Silver, and Gold

  2. In America there are 2 types, international and american.

I dont really know much about american as im an international dancer but I know that they have smooth and rhythm as well as ballroom (standard) and latin

But in international we have ballroom (standard) and latin.

    BALLROOM:

    Foxtrot

    Quickstep

    Tango

    Waltz

    Vienesse waltz

    LATIN:

    Cha cha

    Samba

    Jive

    Rumba

    Paso Doble

    SMOOTH:

    Waltz

    Tango

    Vienesse Waltz

    Foxtrot

    RHYTHM:

    Cha cha

    Rumba

    Swing

    Bolero

    Mambo

In competition dancers are placed in different levels, it changes in each country but im presuming you are in the USA so the way they do it goes as followed: Newcomer, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Championship
