  1. Good question.  Around 5 to 10 grams.  Irrelevant really as it's carbon neutral.  In other words the plant was growing recently (unlike fossil fuels)  and needed CO2 to grow so by burning it you are only releasing that amount back into the atmosphere.

    Who else could take two serious issues and turn them into such an irrelevancy? Well done.

    5 g per ciggy maybe, but to get the true answer George, you need to take the world annual cigarette production, add the heat of cremation of the dead bodies, subtract the burials, factor in  the CO2 savings due to shortened life spans, and finally make an adjustment for poppy and cannabis production.
