  1. The biggest problem in India and the world as a whole is that government is hardly supportive enough of the farmer who does everything for everyone and gets almost nothing in return, rarely even a pat on the back. When was the last time you went to the grocery store and was so happy with what you have (and what you paid for) that you would go out and hug a farmer? It's the government, it's the oil producers (in the back pocket of government), and all the middle"men" (you ladies get lucky this time) that ruin a good thing.

  2. I'm not so sure about India to be honest, but I do know that according to scientists there will be major food shortages as we are not producing enough food compared to what we consume.  And this will not get any better.

With the new law in place for all fuels to contain bio-fuel or bio-oil (can't remember) it is more economically sensible for farmers to produce this than crops.

Thus farmers are less likely to grow crops or raise livestock and the shortages will get worse.

  3. Peoples at present are intrested in saving money, their important goal is to save money within a short period of time so they are start vanishing all the natural resources as a result govertment statrs incresing the prices of the commodities gradually. Both legal and illegal contribution of the public is the main reason for this problem. Definetly the peak period will reach and that time we all sufer for food, but we should create awarness before that.

  4. The genetic bomb in the ruminants

  5. One reason is dependent on natural resources which is not regular, Finance Problem, Govt not giving proper attention to agriculture(they give but very little), Literate people doesnt want to engage them into agriculture. they want to sit idle and go for a job rather that work at the fields

  6. 1. Man is depleting oil resources in the world.

    2. he is spending oil for industries which emit out dangerous gases like co2

    3. co2 gases make the earth more warm.

    4. When the earth's climate becomes more warm, the rainfall as well as the heat because of the sun light changes drasctically from their original way. I mean earlier we hardly had any rainfalls in summer. But now its common. and almost all the days are hot which is not supposed to be. The winter is more cooler that it is supposed to be.

    5. When farmers plant crops thinking that nothing will be affected, all on a sudden rainfall occurs that too in summer..so their hardwork and the crops would degrade in the stagnant waters in the fields.

    6. He would have spent more money in raising the crops by using pumps electric motor which needs diesel/petrol and current to operate. But he lost almost everything. So the next time when his works are achieved..i.e, when he is able to raise crops.. he considers all his loss in the earlier days and fixes an amount for the crops. Say 1 kg rice is 30 Rupees.

    7. The worker who works for the petrol company will buy 1 kg of rice for 35 rupees. He would ask for more salary. The company will pay him the salary he needs but to look for some profit it may rise the price of petrol by say 10 rupees.

    8. This is a kind of wheel which cannot be stopped. At one stage when all the petrol is over and the climatic conditions drastically changes.. there will be a point in which only the millionaires and rich will be able to get food.

    9. The government cannot help the farmers in any way other than giving them free current . loans etc.

    10. The inavailability of skilled workers in agriculture is also one fo the reasons of poor performance in agricultural sector.

    11. The present farmer may think that his child should study well and should not do agriculture. There is nothing wrong in this but if everybody want to work not in the fields but in offices then who will take up agricultural works. Who will feed the nation.

Thats why  i, being a s/w engg ,decided to do agriculture in my farm land.. atleast i need to do it for my family to eat in the future.  i have stopped my relatives from selling a piece of agricultural land... Lets hope for the best..

  7. Soil, water (including the rain, at proper time), fertliser (proper, at the right time) and 'our managed properly', by the 'men' !

  8. I think one of the toughest problems facing agriculture in India is the fact that people in India are generally Hindu, Vegitarian, and therefore they do not eat beef, because they believe a cow could be one of their dead relatives.  This makes problems for farmers since it is difficult to control the wandering animals and they eat crops.  This is changing a bit as India modernizes, but it is still an issue in some areas.

another real problem is the fact that farmland in India has been farmed for so long that it is devoid of trace minerals and therefore the crops are lacking in Nutrition.  this is true in some cases even in the United States but India is one of the oldest civilizations so thousands of years of farming has really depleted the soil.
