  1. I'm not sure what a KT fee might be, but I can tell you about the concourse fee. The concourse is the building that houses your flight.

The airport authorities have been charging airlines for maintenance on the concourses, such as cleaning the gate areas where all Air Canada flights arrive or depart from. Because airlines are strapped for cash and being hit from all sides (gas costs, airport landing fees, etc), they have been passing these costs on to the consumer now. So you will be charged the concourse fee as part of the ticket.

It is also possibly you will run into an Airport Improvement Fee (AIF), and Air Canada is supposed to start charging you a $15 fee for your first checked bag, with $25 for each additional checked bags. Other airlines do not have this fee yet. They used to allow one checked bag, then charge for additional luggage.

All of these costs allow them to "claim" your ticket was only $499 return, while they tacked on probably over $100 of additional fees and surcharges, not to mention GST and PST on the total of ticket and fees.
