  1. Damage to your retina or totally blind.


  2. I have never seen an arc when soldering (melting low temperature metals like tin).  You must be thinking of brazing or welding, in which case you should definitely have properly tinted eye protection or mask.

  3. Total blindness, or at least, very damaged vision.
