What are the correct dimensions for a set of nunchuks?

I built a pair that are 10inches at the handles but the length of chain seems to be a bit long

a custom chain length, is the roughly the length of the back of your hand

it should be comfortable

There are no ''correct" dimensions. Just whatever fits you best. You if think the chain is too long then shorten it.

I am not into custom Nunchakus, I like wood with rope and for worm-up like 14"s and for tournaments/demos 12"s.

big enough to leave in your closet at home, where they belong.  go learn some muay thai.
