  1. Kingdom of the Netherlands is the official name.  It consists of the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba in the Caribbean.  Holland is the western coastal region of the Netherlands.

Latin America is a cultural name given to Mexico, Central America, South America, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico of the Caribbean Islands.  It refers only to those territories in the Americas where Spanish or Portuguese is the main language.

South America is a continent and does not include Mexico, Central America or the Caribbean Islands.

  2. Holland refers to roughly the central-western part of The Netherlands.  There are other areas such as Friesland in the north and Limburg in the south.  Those places don't like the name Holland, but it has come to mean the entire country, plus the island colonies as noted above.  Most people just mean the primary country, though when they speak of The Netherlands.

  3. Holland is a province of the Netherlands.  Mixing them up is a bit like confusing England and the United Kingdom.

Latin America is South and Central America and Mexico.
