    b) 3 significant figures

    (you have to do the same as the number with the smallest number of significant figures in the question)


  2. a. When adding you use the answer with the least number of decimal places. 0.5 has the least.

    Use two numbers or sig figs in your answer.

    b. When multiplying or dividing use the number with the least number of sig figs, or numbers altogether for that matter.

    3 sig figs from the 4.62cm.

    Remember, base your sig fig answer based off of the data given to you in the original question, not off of any numbers you get in performing your calculations. You would not know what to do then! Even I get confused every once in a while
