i would say the UK has the best military history because they had the biggest empire ever and have had more battles and wars than any other country in the world, before britain had the empire they many civil wars and wars with france etc

I cant see how France would #1. They have been basically a farce this century. Except for Napoleon, they really have no military victories of note. I would have to say over the scope of all history the kahns of mongolia would have to be the most impressive. They basically controlled all of Asia. Then the Meads and Persians followed by the Romans. Then of course you have the British who spread their empire all over the world. The USA would be next due to great victories over Britain (America Revolution), Germany and Japan (World War II), and Russia (The cold war) even though there was no real war, the presence of our military intimidated the Russians into surrendering.

By the time we entered WW1- both sides were exhausted. If we hadn't entered, you would have been forced to call a ceasefire and the war would have ended with Germany coming out the better in terms of territorial gains. That probably would have been a better outcome in my opinion, then Hitler probably wouldn't have rose to power. WW1 can't be considered a pure French victory, because they wouldn't have won it alone. Same as WW2 can't be considered a pure American victory.

What military history have China ?  I think, China is the most peacefull country. Maybe, Manchurian Empire (XVII centuary -1911).

Russia is the greatest military power in the world.

We stopped  the onslaught of crusaders and rid of east hordes of wild conquerors and overmastered them. We conquered and populated the greatest territory in the world - half of Eurasia and part of North America (Alaska).  We did weak (during endless wars) frightful threat of all Europe - Great Ottoman Empire and give possibility to obtain independence for much of the Balkan  countries. We destroyed the great armies of Napoleon and Hitler in bloody continental battles, and liberated the half of Europe from a power of these maniacs.  We destroyed a power of Swedish Kingdom forever, destroyed Army and Navy of this country on the dry land and in the sea battles during the wars 1700-1721 and 1812, we compelled to capitulate great Swedish king - conqueror Charles XII. We destroyed for one month Kwantung (Guandong) Army of Japaneses, counting almost million persons, and cleaned from samurais the half of China, North Korea, Sakhalin and Kuril Islands.   We broke through quite inpregnable defensive line of Mannerheim in the Winter war with Finland.  We 40 years held the half of foreign Europe under our control. The Russian Army took Berlin three times in a history and had a parade of victory in Paris in 1815.  The heroic defensive of cities Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad in 1941-1943 does not have analogues in world history. Kursk battle in 1943  is the greatest in history tank battle.

By using the word "glorious" you can only mean those nations who were able to win wars against invaders. Those are the only wars that should ever be fought.
