  1. This is not an easy answer and will not be well received by christians, in general.Hinduism is the world's oldest religion and it is, like the others, a combination of Provencal habits, folklore and beliefs.

Eventually several systems came together and after the merger Hinduism resulted. The Indian subcontinent is one of the oldest civilizations, much older then Mesopotamia from whence the Big Three originated from about 950 BCE. This was, of course, Hebraism from which both christianity and islam derived.

Modern humans have been living in the Indus River valley for at least 15,000 years. I remember a National Geographic article from 40 years ago (when I was in college) describing an ancient town along the river that was over 6,000 years old with two story houses and children's toys.

In Mesopotamia, 6,000 years ago, they had only spoken language. Neanderthal probably had a rudimentary spoken language but India was settled by modern man or, Homo Sapien Sapien with a more complex laryngeal instrument.

    Evolution doing it's thang! Opps!

You will find Hinduism more sophisticated than the Big Three as the adherents were probably more intellectually advanced.

Study the history of the area and you will understand more. Forget religious prejudice when you study; it will only hamper understanding as it is mostly old wives tales put to paper.

    Maybe that's just me!        Not!
