  1. Fallen Angel implies heavily that people believe that polytheism is a bad thing or a shameful thing... I don't think anyone's opinion or belief in Hinduism changes whether there is one God with multiple facets, like the Christian Trinity, or whether there are a million Gods - the beliefs and practices of the religion still are the same.

  2. Hinduism was brought to India by the Aryans who invaded in pre-history. Dark skinned people called Dravidians lived in the area. The Aryans were lighter and from the North. The earliest writings of Hinduism were the Rig Vedas. Vedas were poetic stanzas that were originally recited and later written down, that symbolized the main teachings of the religion. Later came the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. People think that Hinuds are polytheistic and idolitors, but their many "gods" and "goddesses" are just aspects or incarnations or manifestations of the one God. some of them are just divices used in religious stories to inform people about the power of God. Such a device is the elephant headed "god" Ganoosh. Ignorant people may have lost sight of this and started to worship the individual manifestations, but if you ask most Hindu people they will tell you there is only one real God. The bible says "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God........and God spoke and said, let there be light, and there was light"  Hindus believe that word was "OM". OM is a sacred sound of creation.

  3. It was vital to the Aryans, since its with religion that they kept the low caste low caste
