I'm not sure what you mean by cultural implications but I think that is one song that shows how much music mediates our understanding and experience of the world.  Would Darth Vader be perceived in quite the same way, particularly with regards to his strength, if his leit motif was a song with a different feel?  Music isn't just an art form that plays with time instead of space; it's emotions and energies too.


  2. If it helps - The Imperial March symbolizes the n**i's and Hitler. Just like in the movie, it's war. Lucas was basing the theme off of that.
