I know it changes often but I just want an idea because I am thinking of reenlisting but i don't want to be stuck with MA. That was the only rate I knew of when i was in that they always had a demand for. If you answer please say how long ago you got this info or if there is a place I can check (as I understand it there isn't which is why I'm here)

Thanks

  1. google the CREO list http://www.npc.navy.mil/CareerInfo/Enlis...

I haven't quite found the exact answer, but when you google it, the usmilitary.about.com page has last years list...I too am trying to decide which rating to choose

  2. Diver, SWCC, SEABEE, SEAL, HT, Nuke, Air Crew.  Not MA.  MA's are a dime a dozen and they can get them at anytime.  Critical rates are the rates you have to have some sort of physical or academic requirements for now or something other than a 32 on your ASVAB.  We are at war, we need the jobs that the Navy uses to directly support that effort.  All of the jobs I listed have bonuses but you are going to have to give up 5 to 6 years to get it.

Also, you can WANT to reenlist all you want but the Navy is not taking too many NAVETs so you are going to have to have something special to get back in.  You are also looking at losing at least one paygrade from what you were when you were active duty before if they let you back in at all.  The answer is no more often than yes to getting back in.  Of course the Army will take anyone if the Navy says no.

You are going to have to talk to a recruiter and only a Navy classifier will have your exact correct information for you if they do choose to let you back in.  All that info changes daily, weekly, monthly depending on the needs of the Navy.  Take your DD214 with you when you go.
