Please don't say that its because Haliburton will control the world with it (needless to say I don't want Conspiracy theories) I want intelligent answers, its a renewable energy thats is clean and green, how come we are not using it? i mean the ones that exploded are modeled after old Submarines and now we have better technology, what is so dangerous about it? the wastes BTW can be recycled as far as I know or can be put somewhere safe and last for 50 years or so, and by the time our technology is high enough to know what we will do about them

  1. Lack of technology, investment, researchers, and let the U.S. government discover why think only they have the right!

  2. Nuclear fission is first of all not green energy. It causes a LOT of pollution. Nuclear waste is harmful to bodies of water and contributes to acid rain. The waste can't be recycled and is usually dumped on grond where it is absorbed into the earth, which damages the soil.

  3. Nope it's not renewable sorry man.

And if something fails then its quite bad for animals including us.

  4. Nuclear wastes will be dangerous for a helluvalot longer than 50 years! the half-live of plutonium is closer to 90,000 years.

Wanna tell me how our descenants are going to know to leave that **** alone after our culture has crumbled to dust?

I hear old plutonium encased in 'glass' makes very pretty jewelry.

  5. The liberals rather us move back into caves than use mans intelligence.

Nuclear power has the ability to remove coal fired from operation reducing co2 emissions, and the waste from a nuclear power plant could fit under your desk.

The reason why nuclear power is opposed is because clean energy isn't the goal.  The goal is removing mans ability to use energy.

  6. Ask the living residents near Chernobyl or Three Mile Island. A meltdown and leakage into the atmosphere would be the biggest dangers I could see, however harnessing nuclear energy these days is quit safe. We need clean forms of energy such as nuclear power, however the downside is what to do with the spent fuel rods. Nuclear energy has it's benefits and our country knows that, though the problem really isn't in harnessing this energy it's the cost to build a nuclear plant and the cost of maintaining it. Your correct in stating that in our current age that nuclear technology is safe, however the real problem isn't a safety issue, it's an economics issue. Nuclear energy has it's practical uses, but it is extremely costly to produce. When someone can figure out how to produce it a little cheaper while maintaining safety, then I think corporations will start to notice it's value.

  7. Done corectly it is a green energy source.  But there are many steps along the way with potential for contamination.  It is more viable than wind and solar in a lot of locations,

  8. The danger of a GAU or Super-GAU and the problems to store the nuclear waste safely. By the way nuke bombs can be produced as side-effect (look at Iran).
