What are the dangers of Linksys?

So there is a Linksys connection on my comp that isn't mine. Are there any legal dangers to connecting to it...My friend has the same on his comp and he says he connects all the time. If there is a danger is there a way for the owner to know if you're connected and can they see any of your personal information (address). Also, if it is illegal how can the public know are there any warnings or do the police just come to your house and arrest you?

It's your neighbor's wireless network you are connecting to.

There is no real danger - they can't really see you unless they are looking when you are connected.  Worst case, they will set a filter to boot you off.

It's illegal, but you are probabably OK.  Stop being a cheapscate and get your own broadband network connection.
