  1. GL getting that MOS I couldn't get it and I already had my certs from working on the civilian side. They are a very competitive MOS they don't need very many numbers, because they hire out to civi companies a lot and the people that get in stay in.

  2. um, getting burned, burning to death, getting stuck in a building and suffocating?

  3. I don't know exactly what type of training they go through but the firefighters I have had personal interaction with are the ones that work at the airfields I fly in and out of. If we have to make an emergency or precuationary landing for whatever reason, they roll up in the firetruck next to the helicopter for precautionary reasons. Otherwise, they sit in the firehouse and wait.

  4. ARMY WIFE is correct, they hire civilian firefighters to work the bases, and there isn't a big demand for them anywhere else in the military, your chances of getting that MOS is 0, the recruiter might tell you otherwise just to bait you into meps but trust me it wont happen, JOIN THE ARMY TO FIGHT PEOPLE NOT FIRES DUDE, if you want to be a firefighter then apply at your local fire department, even back when you could get that job (10-20 years ago) you would fight MAYBE 1 fire a year, in the civilian fire departments eyes that is 0 job experience.

  5. Is this a serious question.

How about being friggen burned, trapped in a building, deploying and the dangers in Iraq, gunshot wounds from an emergency call either home or abroad.

Gee I had to think hard to answer that
