  1. Hi:   If you have sprained your ankle, hurt your back, or had many other musculoskeletal problems, physical therapists will lead you through a very specific series of exercises to correct that problem. They can also apply heat packs, cold packs, use ultrasound, or massage the affected area.

Acupuncture can also help with muscular problems as well as general health issues, whether it is headaches, digestive problems, weak kidneys or whatever, It is based on the theory that life energy (chi, ki, prana) flows through the body through meridians. Imbalances in the energy flow disrupt the body. Acupuncture uses needles in specific points along the meridians to rebalance the energy flow and thus improve physical and mental health.

  2. There are basically no similarities.

You would see much more in common between PT and Chiropractic because both are hands on therapies.

Acupuncture is strictly the tiny needles (they don't hurt and you don't have to worry about it - just feels a little weird).

Best luck - better yet try all 3 and decide for yourself which works bets!  No harm in that.

  3. Two different things but sometimes used together, as they compliment each other.

Acupuncture uses very thin needles to stimulate certain points on your body.

Physioptherapy is a series of exercises.
