  1. The DNA database is all genetic information i.e ensembl, ncbi.

    One amino acid (i.e proline) constitutes 3 coding DNA bases (ATCG) or a codon. A peptide is the protein produced from translating and trancribing the DNA and are formed into amino acid/poly peptide chains.

    The peptide database is a database of peptide chains less than 20 amino acids in length (generally speaking).

    Multiple peptide chains can form larger proteins, i.e haemoglobin has 4 polypeptide chains.


  2. That's really what the difference is. DNA is genetic material. Peptides are what the genetic material codes for, after some alterations.
