  1. about $500 joining fee

  2. The adjective preceding "Jiu Jitsu".

They are pretty much the same thing, with very similar techniques.  All derived from Kodokan Judo.

  3. The day any style of jujitsu was ever derived from any kind of judo will be the day that pigs fly dude.  American Jujitsu as founded by Steve Crawford is influenced by the lineage of shorinji ryu jujitsu that Steve holds 7th Dan in I do believe as well as the other arts Steve has studied and holds high ranks in.  Gracie juijitsu I could care less about.  Danzan ryu I've never done any research on what so ever and the original Nihon Jujitsu the "very first ever" is studied in Japan to this day as well as has many practitioners else where in the world.  There are 725 Officially documented styles of jujitsu world wide and it d**n sure didn't come from no judo as a matter of fact it's quite the opposite.  There's a website that has plenty of useful and historic facts about jujitsu at http://www.westlord.com/jujitsu/ I'd check that out before I'd ever believe that jujitsu came from judo.
