  1. buy a wolfe tones cd

  2. oh my god.......toooooo much history to even TRY to get into!

Just read about it from good sources and ....yea......its ONE country .......to a lot of people ......but I wont comment on that much because it is considered controversial subject matter by some people who are not aw are of the truth or by people who just dont care about the truth. ( Iay ameblay glandenay..)

  3. Most Irish poeple consider the whole island to be one country, but as part of our fight for freedom, the six northern counties were given to the British as part of "the treaty" in 1922.

  4. Read a history book.

  5. Well the reason that the North isnt part of the Republic is because 6 of Irelands 32 counties were given to Britain when they tried to take over the Country....luckily thats all they could get off us!!!!

No matter what you call it the North will always be ours!!!

    Tíocfadh Ár Lá

  6. Ireland is one nation 2 cultures that's why the Northern Irish are different to the Southern different accents different religion different culture and even different in looks,The North are their own people and so are the south! The North doesn't want to unite with the South and most people in the South don't want the North,It's only the hardcore republican Catholics up North who want to unite with the South and have Ireland as one nation! It's too long a story to explain so maybe just do a search and read the history for yourself or speak to an Irish person who is willing to explain it all to ya lol

  7. Because the eternal enemy (Britian) won't give it back. But to quote Bob Dylan, "the times they are a changin".

  8. I've attached some info on the why are they not one country question as it is too much to write here.

In terms of differences, its pretty much the same with respect to the people, the countryside etc, and the weather, the only real difference a visitor would notice is different currency, different accents and some laws are different.

    =]

  9. The currency and that's about it.At the end of the day it's the island of Ireland and before too long we'll all be singing the same anthem. Our time is fast approaching.

  10. The main difference between Ireland and North Ireland is that Ireland is an island and North Ireland is the bit in the north on that island.

However if you meant what is the difference between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland - well there's lots. Different countries for a start. Different legal systems. Different road system. Diff. tax system etc etc.

Northern Ireland is part of the UK and is NOT owned by anyone - so basically it's not anyones to 'give back'. Their representatives play a full part in the democratic processes of the UK - whether we like it or not. The p[eople of Northern Ireland will be given a vote as to where they want to be when it is so desired. At present the majority wish to remain within the UK. That will change.

  11. because the greedy ***** english priks tried to take over our whole country but 6 counties is all they could manage. even though we are half their size. cu n ts

  12. The roads in Northern Ireland are much better than in the Republic.

The accent in Northern Ireland is, at times, incomprehensible. However, generally speaking, people of both places are very friendly.

As far as I know, Irish (Gaeilge) is not on the curriculum in Northern Ireland, and it is in the Republic.

And one thing I have noticed that's markedly different: in Northern Ireland, houses are built quite close to the road, whereas in the Republic we like a little distance between new houses and the road.

  13. They are both in Ireland.

Northern Ireland are 'owned' by England and are ruled by the queen and not the president and a lot of northern Ireland are protestants, whereas Republic of Ireland got their own independence from England, are ruled by the president.

Also, Northern Ireland use sterling and republic of Ireland use the Euro.

    = )

  14. Because the Brits won't give it back to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. under British rule, her people are supposed to support the church of England. the northern IRISH comunities pre Catholic.there they are ostrasized. to unite i think that the

British have to get out of there, and let the Irish people decide for themselves
