What are the differences between Thomson's plum pudding atomic model and Ratherford's nuclear atomic model?

I am reading a book on atomic and subatomic models but I dont get how these two models are different from one another?

  1. Thompson came first. His atomic model has negative charges (electrons) inside the atom and swimming in a sea of positive charges. He called it the plum pudding model. We can think of it as a chocolate chip cookie or a slice of watermelon.

    Rutherford was his student. He discovered that there is a nucleus in the atom and that's where the positive charges are. The electrons are outside the nucleus and orbit around the nucleus.
