What are the differences between UCF's and UF's computer/electrical engineering schools?

A little info:

-I am a Florida resident (Miami)

-I went to the UCf open house and "VISITED" the UF campus twice for debate tournaments.

-I want to make a living off computer hardware/software.

Hello all, this is my first Yahoo question so bear with me. I am currently a high school senior and am right now applying for college. I am most likely to stay in state and my main two choices are UF and UCF. I went to the UCF open house and found it amazing anf visited the UF capus twice. I wanted to know if anyone can help me compare the strengths of IF's and UCF's electrical/computer engineering schools.

I was also hoping someone would give their opinion on my chances of getting in to these schools.

I have:

-1200/1730 on my SAT (680 on math, 520 on reading, and 530 on writing) and I am going to retake it as well as take the ACT in October.

-I go to a private school so my GPA may be calculated differently, My weighted GPA is about a 3.7 or 3.8 and my unweited is about a 3,2.

-Im taking several Honors and Ap courses this year.

-I have somewhere around 300 to 400 service hours ( i have to check) The main chunk of which came from a 2 week missionary trip to Peru I did over the summer. I also accumulatred hem through alter serving since 5th grade, judging in middle school debate tournaments, and helping in several school activitis.

-I have two strong leadership positions: I am the executivve producer for my schools news network (which i have been on for my 3rd year this year. AND i am the co-founder of my schools enviromental club.

-I have been on my schools debate team for my 3rd year this year and my schools news studio for my 3rd year this year.

-I have a leter of reccomendation from my Pricipal (who is a Marist Brother) and am getting one from my councilor, my Honors history teacher, and probably my math teacher

I think thats about it.

Thanks.

  1. Why don't you look on these websites and find out the exact requirements for admission.  Use the contact information and just *call* then for any other questions.  When you call you'll get a department secretary/assistant type person who will be more than happy to answer your questions.
