What are the differences between a 32bit and a 64bit OS?

  1. A 64 bit OS supports more RAM, up to 16GB I believe, where as a 32 bit OS only supports up to 3.25GB.


  2. 32bit OS is only able to execute programs with a RAM of 2GB or less. 64bit OS is able to execute programs with a RAM of 2GB + and this could be a serious factor in gaming.

  3. 32 bit OS's are more compatible with intel processors, while 64 bit OS's are more compatible with AMD processors.

  4. 64 bit is newer and faster
