  1. When you own a Corp (such as a s-corp) you own "shares" of the business (the business is its own entity separate from you) and it protects you in the event of a law suit against the company.

    A LLC is similar in the fact that you are protected against personal loss...it really depends on what type of business you are starting and what industry you will be in. Speak to your attorney for advice on which type you should establish.
