  1. The book is a work of non-fiction with chapters that cover the dangers of the fast food economy, from slaughterhouse conditions to health issues to environmental devastation. The movie presents these same issues in the context of a story. It follows some teenagers working at a fast food restaurant, some undocumented workers at the slaughterhouse, and a higher-up from the fast food company. The three come together when the higher-up guy comes out West to investigate the high levels of fecal matter in the burgers that came from the slaughterhouse.
