  1. Social gospel, which i'm pretty sure is the Gospel of wealth proposed by carnegie says that while the rich are rich for a reason and the poor are poor for a reason, the rich still have a duty to help the poor. Social darwinism proposes that rich and poor are in those states for a reason. The rich have are prosperous because they are intelligent and make something out of themselves. The poor are poor because they can't help themselves and that is where they deserve to be. Both theories came about during the industrial revolution.

  2. My perception is that social gospel are societal norms which tend to persevere over an extended time, while social darwinism tends to be a generational adaptation of existing norms.
