  1. assuming you're talking about the recent movie, there are tons of differences. first of all, the adventures differ slightly in each retelling of the story. also, in the movie, to "spice things up" they make it so that grendel and all the monsters beowulf fights are all children of a monster who disguises herself as a woman and some important figure (like the king) who foolishly fall for the "woman" and basically cause the destruction of their town until someone kills it.
